Our seasoned team has broad experience in chemistry, molecular biology, biochemistry, analytical chemistry, in vivo animal model, PK/ADME, toxicology and formulation R&D. We also employ senior consultants and business development professionals on a project-by-project basis with experience from all stages of drug development.
Elke Lipka, Ph.D., M.B.A., President, Chief Executive Officer
Dr. Elke Lipka joined TSRL in June of 2007 to develop and implement a sustainable competitive commercialization strategy for TSRL’s technology portfolio. She was promoted to CEO in November 2018. She received her B.S. in Pharmacy and Ph.D. in Pharmacology from the Johann-Wolfgang-von-Goethe University in Frankfurt, Germany, and her M.B.A. from the University of Michigan.
Elke started her career as a Research Scientist at TSRL in 1992 and subsequently has held a number of scientific and management positions of increasing responsibility at Parke-Davis, Pfizer, and Esperion Therapeutics. She is an experienced professional capable of building and managing multidisciplinary teams involved in the discovery and development of pharmaceutical drug candidates and drug delivery systems. Her expertise includes pharmacokinetic, drug metabolism and drug safety scientific guidance to small molecule and biologic drug development programs. Elke brings strong skills in project management, establishment of strategic partnerships, and management of financial and operational business aspects to TSRL.
Dawn Reyna, Chief Operations Officer
Ms. Dawn Reyna joined TSRL, Inc. in 2007 as Quality Assurance Unit Manager and was named Senior Director of Laboratory Services in 2014. She was promoted to COO in November 2018. Prior to her joining TSRL Inc., Dawn held management positions within quality assurance at Pfizer, a global drug development firm, and MPI Research, an early clinical-stage contract research organization. Dawn brings over 18 years of research and quality assurance expertise to TSRL, Inc., having managed GLP-compliant quality systems in fast, results-driven environments. Dawn is a registered Quality Assurance Professional in Good Laboratory Practices and received her B.S. in Biology from Western Michigan University.
Dawn’s leadership skills and experience are evident by her ability to deliver high-quality results that meet internal and collaborator objectives.
Penny Weller, BHA, Office/Facilities Manager
Ms. Penny Weller joined TSRL, Inc. as the Executive Assistant in October 2017. She was promoted to Office/Facilities Manager in April 2018. She comes from the University of Michigan with over 20 years of experience as an Executive Assistant. In addition to Office/Facilities Manager, she performs as the Purchasing and Receiving Coordinator, manages HR and Benefits, assists the Team as the Grant Specialist, and Archivist. Penny received her Bachelors in Healthcare Administration from Eastern Michigan University in 2010.
Cheryl (Cheri) Harteg, Research/Project Scientist
Ms. Cheryl Harteg joined TSRL, Inc in 2008 as an Associate Research Scientist and was named Safety Officer for the company in 2011. She was promoted to Research Scientist in 2018. Prior to her joining TSRL, Inc., Cheryl held analytical technologist positions, in Dowpharma and Analytical Sciences, at The Dow Chemical Company. She brings over 17 years of quality control and analytical chemistry experience to TSRL, Inc, responsible for study design, implementation and data analysis. She received her B.S. in Biology and Psychology from Saginaw Valley State University.
Aaron Chadderdon, M.S., Associate Research/Project Scientist
Mr. Aaron Chadderdon joined TSRL, Inc. as an Associate Research Scientist in 2017. Prior to joining TSRL, Inc., Aaron held positions as a research specialist and laboratory manager in the Department of Pharmacology at the University of Michigan Medical School. While at the University of Michigan, he studied G protein coupled receptors with a focus on the opioid receptor family and how their activity and signaling relate to pain management, addiction, and depression. Aaron has acquired a wide range of technical skills, from advanced animal handling and cell culture to analytical technique, making him a versatile member of our team. In addition to study design, implementation, and data analysis, he is also responsible for managing the daily operations of the in vivo facilities at TSRL, Inc. Aaron received his B.S. in Brain, Behavior, and Cognitive Science and his M.S. in Pharmacology from the University of Michigan.
Randy Wald, Senior Research Fellow
Randy brings over 35 years experience in formulation development, manufacturing of clinical and commercial drug product supplies. He was previously with Bend Research/Lonza, Pfizer and Pharmacia-Upjohn.
John Domagala, PhD, Research Fellow
Dr John Domagala brings 40 years of experience in antimicrobial research from discovery through clinical development and registration. He was formely with Park-Davis/ Pfizer in numerous research and commercialization roles and a senior consultant with IDSC.
